Privacy Policy
Tampa Bay Camper Rental is a one-rig, one-family rental run by Joel Noland. We collect the bare minimum needed to run a booking and we don't sell or share your data with advertisers. This page is the plain-language version of what we do.
What we collect
When you submit a booking request through tampabaycamper.com, you give us:
- Name, email, and phone number — to confirm the booking and reach you about your trip.
- Delivery address (street, campground, or coordinates) — to deliver the rig.
- Trip details — dates, guest count, whether you're bringing a pet, any notes you leave.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see your full card number. We store only the Stripe payment-intent IDs that point to your booking.
When you visit tampabaycamper.com, we automatically collect:
- Standard server logs (IP, browser, referrer, requested URL) — for security and to keep the site running.
- Anonymous traffic counts via Vercel Web Analytics — we see “tampabaycamper.com had N visits today,” not who you are. No cookies, no fingerprinting.
- Optional Google Analytics events if you accept analytics cookies after we enable GA4 — page and booking-step events only, never names, emails, phone numbers, card details, or delivery addresses.
How we use it
- To process your booking, deliver the rig, and contact you about your trip.
- To send transactional email — request confirmations, approval/decline notices, and trip details.
- To charge your card and place the refundable deposit hold via Stripe.
- To keep our calendar accurate (booked dates are blocked from being double-booked).
- To handle damage claims or refunds if needed.
- To comply with legal requirements (e.g. tax reporting).
We do notuse your data for advertising, retargeting, or profiling. We don't share your contact info with any third party except the service providers below, and only to the extent they need it to do their job.
Who we share it with
- Stripe — processes all payments. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see them. See stripe.com/privacy.
- Resend — sends our transactional email. They process your name and email to deliver the message. See resend.com/privacy.
- Vercel — hosts the website and database. They see standard server-log data. See vercel.com/privacy.
- Google Analytics — only if GA4 is enabled and you accept analytics cookies. Google processes pageview and event data for measurement. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- Law enforcement, if we're legally compelled to (subpoena, court order). We'll tell you unless prohibited.
How long we keep it
- Active bookings: for the lifetime of your trip plus 90 days, in case of damage or refund disputes.
- Booking records and receipts: 7 years, to meet IRS tax-record requirements.
- Server logs and analytics: 30 days.
- Declined bookings: 90 days, then deleted.
Cookies & tracking
We use a single first-party cookie for the owner's admin login (so the owner doesn't have to log in every time). That cookie isn't set for regular site visitors. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site fingerprinting.
If Google Analytics is enabled, it only loads after you accept analytics cookies. You can change that choice from the footer cookie settings link. Declining keeps Google Analytics off; Vercel's cookie-free traffic counts still run so we can see basic site health. Your analytics choice is saved in your browser under tbcr_analytics_consent.
The site stores some of your booking-flow inputs in your browser's sessionStorage so you can navigate back and forth between steps without losing what you typed. That data stays on your device and is wiped when you close the tab.
Your rights
You can email support@tampabaycamper.com to:
- See what data we have on you (we'll reply within 30 days).
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your data — except records we're legally required to keep (e.g. tax receipts).
- Get an export of your data.
If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK-GDPR, and the CCPA respectively. The list above covers them all in practice. We'll always respond to a legitimate request.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS only. Card data never touches our servers — it goes straight to Stripe. Our database is hosted by Vercel/Neon and access-restricted. The owner's admin login uses a signed JWT cookie with a 30-day expiry.
That said, no system is bulletproof. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we'll tell you what happened and what to do.
Children
The rig is family-friendly but bookings are made by adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you're a parent and think we have your kid's data, email support@tampabaycamper.comand we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change. Material changes get a new “Last updated” date at the top. If we ever start doing something materially different with your data, we'll email anyone with an active booking.
