Book around event weekends early
Fall festivals, school events, long weekends, and cooler-weather trips can make October and November dates busier than a normal local weekend.
If you already have a campground or event site in mind, reserve the campsite first, then request camper dates with the site number and arrival window.
A delivered camper works especially well for event stays where you want a real bed, bathroom, kitchen, and AC without towing through traffic.
Choose the right fall campsite
Use 34 feet as the trailer length when checking campground limits, then think about slide-out room, trees, hookup placement, and truck access.
Fort De Soto is usually the easiest local delivery from St. Petersburg, while Lake Manatee and Hillsborough River can be better for quieter state-park weekends.
If the site details are vague, call the campground before booking and ask whether owner delivery is allowed.
Pack for changing weather
Fall can still bring heat, rain, bugs, and cool evenings, so pack layers, rain gear, outdoor lighting, pet towels if needed, and easy meals.
Full hookups are the simplest setup because the camper can run normally and the trip does not depend on generator rules.
The camper already covers linens, towels, basic cookware, tableware, coffee maker, RV supplies, hoses, power adapters, and setup gear.
